When in Lisbon one of my favorite visits is the rather grand ‘National Museum of Azulejos Collection of Traditional Tiles from Portugal and the Portuguese Empire as well as other Iberian cultures’ but apart from the long title it contains the largest collection of ceramics in the world, a great representation of Azulejos tiles of early origins in Moorish Spain. 

A lovely day out at the elegant Masdar City, conceived as the world’s first carbon-neutral city which I loved exploring!

The design of an artwork may catch the eye or draw you to an intricate pattern so renowned in Islamic art; but it is the language of colour that interprets the work and indeed the world for us.

Entering the neighborhood hammam is to retreat into a different private world, one of women only.

I spy with my little eye so the childhood game goes, but have you ever noticed how your eye or ear or mouth gets locked on to some particular shape, sound, smell or taste and that’s all you can notice?
